4 décembre 2001 — MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, today announced that Hans von Bell has joined the company as chief financial officer (CFO). Mr. von Bell has become part of MySQL AB's growing executive team to help promote and manage increased worldwide sales and marketing of its leading open source database. MySQL AB also recently appointed Larry Stefonic as its first vice president of sales for the Americas (please see related press release, dated November 27, 2001).
30 novembre 2001 — The editors of InfoWorld annually list the top 100 companies showing the greatest IT achievements during the year. This year they ranked Yahoo! as number 27 for their use of MySQL.
27 novembre 2001 — MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, today announced that Larry Stefonic has joined the MySQL AB management team as the company's first vice president of sales for the Americas. Mr. Stefonic is responsible for increasing the Sweden-based company's growing presence in the U.S. corporate market through sales of commercial software licenses and MySQL AB services, as well as partnership development.
12 novembre 2001 — MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, today announced that it has closed a first round of financing with leading European early stage investors. The company plans to direct its new resources to support expanded worldwide sales and marketing of the MySQL database. In addition to the funding, MySQL AB has defied the economic downturn by recording September 2001 as its best month ever.
10 novembre 2001 — For the fourth year in a row, the MySQL database received the Linux Journal Readers' Choice Award in the "Favorite Database" category. The award was announced in the november issue of Linux Journal.
23 octobre 2001 — MySQL AB is the only place where you can get an official support contract for MySQL 4.0 (and previous versions).
15 octobre 2001 — The long awaited version 4.0 of the MySQL database is now available for download at the MySQL website. The new version is intended as a platform for building mission critical, heavy load database solutions, and much effort has been put into providing a solid foundation for planned enhancements, some of which are included from the start.

8 juin 2001 — MySQL AB today announced that a professional MySQL training team has joined the company. Mr. Kaj Arno, heading the group, has been appointed Vice President responsible for building and developing the MySQL training program, certification and documentation. Arno and his crew join from Polycon AB, a company he co-founded in 1987 and that he has been running sucessfully as CEO since then.
5 juin 2001 — Blue World Communications, Inc.--pioneers of the Web Data Engine[tm] and MySQL AB, developers of MySQL[tm]--the most widely used database on the Internet today announced strategic relations and a licensing agreement for the distribution of MySQL embedded in editions of Lasso Professional 5. The embedded MySQL database for Lasso Professional 5, e.g. Lasso MySQL, provides Lasso developers a powerful SQL database server as an integral part of Lasso Professional 5.

Motorola today announced that they will include the MySQL database in their developers' toolkit for the iDEN handset network system. The system will allow users to wirelessly access information from host servers through "always on", handheld devices. MySQL AB will offer support to iDEN developers.

At MySQL AB we are pleased to note that Oracle Corporation has shown their recognition of the significant MySQL impact in the database market by creating a MySQL-Oracle migration kit. We are delighted that Oracle shares our view that it should be easy to transfer data between various database architectures.
4 janvier 2001 — In November a team at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center finished the transition of the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) from Oracle to MySQL. NAIS sends e-mail notifications to users based on specified interests and enables users to query the Web site (nais.nasa.gov) for updated opportunities.
