HP, Intel, Novell, Red Hat & Leading ISVs Join New MySQL Partner Program to make it Easier for IT Organizations to Integrate Popular Open Source Database
Boston, LinuxWorld Conference & Expo MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, today launched a new certified partner program to ensure that leading third-party solutions will work seamlessly with the software and support offerings provided by the new MySQL Network enterprise database subscription service, also announced today.
Open source software has many well-known benefits, but its do-it-yourself nature can be difficult for some companies to implement, said Zack Urlocker, vice president of marketing for MySQL AB. Our close collaboration with partners on MySQL Network can help enterprise customers smooth the integration of MySQL into their existing IT environments. These software-certification efforts will give customers confidence that MySQL and our partners' products have been tested together and are ready for enterprise production use.
The multi-tiered MySQL Network Certified Partner Program enables ISV partners to certify that their software has been tested and is compatible with the MySQL Pro Certified database server and related MySQL tools. As part of the program, partners receive a subscription to MySQL Network - and access to MySQL Network Certified logos and co-marketing promotions. The program also offers opportunities to hardware vendors and consulting companies to leverage the growing adoption of MySQL within mainstream IT organizations. Additional information and benefits on joining the new program are available at http://solutions.mysql.com/.
To date, over 25 companies have said their products will be certified for MySQL Network, including HP, Novell, Sun, Red Hat, JBoss, Embarcadero Technologies, GoldenGate, Quest Software, Business Objects, SSA Global, SugarCRM, Safe Software, Trolltech, Arkeia, Funambol, Four J's, Versora, ActiveGrid, OmniPilot Software, Acronis, Hit Software, Alpha Software, Ispirer Systems, Metilinx, IT-Map, Flowerfire and EBM Software.
In addition, MySQL Network and its new partner program have received key endorsements from several industry-leading partners, such as:

The program's combination of certified software, production support, and proactive advisory alerts delivers great value at the lowest cost of ownership."
