TOKYO -- July 31, 2007 -- MySQL K.K., the Japanese subsidiary of MySQL AB, developers of the open source MySQL database, today announced free pre-registration for the MySQL Users Conference Japan 2007, the first MySQL users conference to be held in Asia.
Date: Tuesday, September 11 & Wednesday, September 12, 2007
Location: National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation
Admission fee: Free, if pre-registered. Participation on that day is 5,000 yen.
Pre-registration: www.mysql-ucj2007.jp/english
Main sponsor: MySQL AB
With the theme “Scale to New Heights with MySQL”, the conference will be packed with the latest database information and tips, case studies from Enterprise users and Web 2.0 sites, a MySQL product roadmap, and plenty of technical information for developers and DBAs.
MySQL AB executives will visit Japan for the event, including the company’s CEO Mårten Mickos, MySQL Fellow and co-founder Michael “Monty” Widenius, Vice President of Open Source Community Relations Kaj Arnö, and Director of Architecture Brian “Krow” Aker.
The Japanese conference will present many of the most popular sessions from MySQL Conference & Expo 2007 (held in California in April), which drew 2,000 participants from around the world, on topics such as MySQL high-availability solutions, performance tuning, and MySQL Cluster.
In addition, many new topics will be presented from Asian speakers, such as real-world technical case studies and advanced application development techniques.
Sessions introducing new products and services -- as well as an exhibition area -- are also scheduled to be available for partner companies who offer MySQL-related software and solutions.
A special reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. on September 12th, as a networking opportunity for all MySQL users, partners, and MySQL employees. A wireless LAN will also be available at the conference site.
Attendees who pre-register will have free access to the exhibition areas, sessions, and the reception. Pre-registration may end early depending on the number of registrants. Please register early as it will be a first-come, first-served event.
