• Build a new database ER diagram
• Generate a physical MySQL database from a model
• Use Model and Schema validation utilities to enforce best practice standards for data modeling and MySQL-specific physical design standards
• Perform forward engineering of physical database designs using a visual data model
• Perform reverse engineering of an existing database or packaged application
• Import SQL scripts to build models and export models to DDL scripts
• Compare two live databases, or a model and a live database, and visually see the differences
• Perform a synchronization between a model and a live database or vice versa
• Customize Workbench with user-created LUA scripts
• Use DBDoc to deliver database documentation in either HTML or plain text format, from a current Workbench session

Prerequisites

Attendance to the MySQL for Database Administrators and/or MySQL for Developers courses, or an equivalent mastery of database design concepts, SQL and the MySQL server.

Online access, with synchronous delivery of presentation slides. Instructor led,with interactive performance labs. Each student will be provided with a student guide, including the lab instructions prior to the delivery of the course.
